Hayward KIT-DIFF PRESS SWITCH, HDF400 (HDXFDPS400) is a differential pressure switch used in the Hayward Universal HC Series HDF400 gas pool heater. It monitors pressure differences within the system to ensure safe and efficient operation.

• Pressure Monitoring:
  The differential pressure switch measures the difference in water pressure between two points in the heater’s circulation system. It measures the pressure before and after the heat exchanger.
• Safety Mechanism:
  If the pressure difference falls outside of the acceptable range, it indicates potential issues like:
• Inadequate water flow
• Blocked or dirty filters
• Faulty circulation pumps
• In such cases, the switch will interrupt the electrical circuit to shut down the heater to prevent damage or unsafe conditions.
• Flow Verification:
  The switch ensures that water flow is present before the burner ignites, preventing overheating or damage to the heat exchanger.
